Sou’Wester Historic Lodge & Vintage Trailer Resort is hiring the following positions:

 

GENERAL MANAGER

We are looking for an experienced hotel manager capable of seeing the big picture while managing all details of daily operations. This is a full time position that is open immediately. Pay is based on experience. Various benefits including PTO, potential profit-sharing, use of sauna and spa, reduced workshop fees, endless walks on the beach, and a community of engaged creatives.

Job Description: General Manager will perform the following duties:

  • Housekeeping operations: scheduling, training, quality control, ordering supplies & furnishings
  • Front desk operations: scheduling, training, developing strategic marketing, addressing guest issues
  • PMS: managing specials, packages, sales, OTA channels, direct booking strategies, yield management and rate negotiations
  • Event management: recruiting and responding to event inquiries from smaller birthday parties and anniversaries to art residencies, retreats and buyouts. Will work closely with point person to establish professional, clear expectations, and replicable templates for planning and executing events.
  • Focus on wellness events and programming
  • Maintain and update repair and maintenance info
  • Administrative operations: create documents/systems for the smooth functioning of the business
  • Integrate with business side (accountant, bookkeeper, office admin) to maximize efficiency and monitor results
  • Have weekly/monthly meetings with key core members
  • Work on special development projects
  • Work closely with owner to develop and implement structural systems

 

MARKETING AND DESIGN COORDINATOR:  
We are looking to partner with an individual who has a strong work ethic and a professional interest in strategic marketing and graphic design. This is a year-round position that is open immediately. 10-20 hours/week.

Job Requirements (Marketing & Design):

  • Strategic and digital marketing experience 
  • Graphic design capabilities including Photoshop, Lightroom and/or Illustrator 
  • Basic knowledge in CSS, HTML, and SEO 
  • Photography skills are a plus
  • Social media experience for basic platforms like IG and FB
  • Ability to work well with a team using authentic and clear communication
  • Must be self-directed and self-sufficient
  • Focus on sustainability in a coastal setting

 

FRONT DESK/HOUSEKEEPING POSITON:

We are looking for dynamic individuals to work the front desk and housekeeping. You will check guests in and out, keep up on special events, respond to emails and phone calls, make sure guests are taken care of and have everything they need to have a great stay, perform opening and closing procedures, coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance, help with events and workshops, and have technical proficiency on using guest management service software.

We have 2 full time positions open. Pay is based on experience. Various benefits including PTO, potential profit-sharing, use of sauna and spa, reduced workshop fees, endless walks on the beach, and a community of engaged creatives.

Job Requirements(Front Desk/Housekeeping):

  • Able to multi-task, be self-directed and self-sufficient (front desk/housekeeping)
  • Focus on sustainability in a coastal setting (front desk/housekeeping)
  • Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced, dimensional setting (front desk)
  • Clear, hospitable, and  detail-oriented customer service skills (front desk)
  • Physically strong; must be able to lift 40 lbs and bend/twist repeatedly without straining the back as this can be a physically demanding job (housekeeping)
  • Interest and an eye for interior aesthetics (room & trailer care/decor (housekeeping)
  • Hotel experience a plus.

 

MASSAGE THERAPIST: 

We are looking to partner with a well-rounded massage therapist who can offer relaxation massage/bodywork along with other healing modalities in a beautifully restored 1957 Boles Aero Trailer. We are a group of community-minded folks with diverse interests looking to find someone who will contribute to the blend. This is a private contractor position. Pay is 70% of services plus tips. 

Job Requirements:

  • Washington massage license and liability insurance
  • Minimum 1-2 years professional massage experience
  • Must offer some form of relaxation massage, though additional modalities encouraged
  • Strong work and service ethic
  • Ability to work well with a team using authentic and clear communication
  • Must be self-directed and self-sufficient
  • Focus on living simply and sustainably in a coastal setting – rustic living requires flexibility and heartiness!

 

VINTAGE TRAILER RESTORER:

We are looking for a talented individual with a passion for vintage trailers to join our team. Responsibilities include restoring a fleet of vintage trailers that will be added to to our vintage trailer lineup as well as working on trailers that are on the Sou’wester property.

Job Requirements:

  • Have a love and understanding of vintage trailers
  • Physically strong and able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be self-directed and self-sufficient
  • Must be skilled in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, finish carpentry, metal fabrication
  • Ability to work well with a team using authentic and clear communication
