ARTS WEEK 2023 Potential Project Locations

Where would you like to display or perform your work for the weekend (Friday and Saturday), open to the public, portion of ARTS WEEK 2023: Shifting Cycles? Here are some options around the grounds and beyond. (Here is also a map of the Sou’wester grounds if you find that helpful too.)

In your space – Display your work in the same space you’ve been staying in, as a self-guided tour. Here are pictures of Sou’wester Lodge Rooms , Vintage Travel Trailers , and Cabins to help you get an idea of the spaces.

In the Pavilion near the Sou’wester Lodge – Display work by hanging it in the windows (each window pane 2′ x 6′) Access to power, water nearby.

In the Pavilion near the Sou’wester Lodge – Display work on a 2.5′ x 6′ table during the performances/music. Access to power, water nearby.

Display work in the Art Trailer Gallery. It is close to the Sou’wester Lodge and next to Cabin 10. The gallery has power outlets inside, walls painted a warm-white and a linoleum floor chartreuse in color.

Display work in our geodesic dome (16ft diameter greenhouse) located near the Champion Recording Studio on the east end of the Sou’wester grounds. It has a gravel floor and limited power provided by one extension cord. Some of the triangle panels open as windows.

The Wellness Trailer is near the Sou’wester Lodge and next to our Tea Trailer and Sauna. It has heat, power and smooth wood floors.

The Tea Trailer is close to the Sou’wester Lodge and next to the Wellness Trailer and Pavilion. It has heat and power. The small area outside the Tea Trailer, patch of ground and/or wooden fence (see image), is also available to display work.

Each of the 4 cabins at the Sou’wester near the Lodge have a covered carport with a gravel floor that may be used for display and/or performance work. Access to power (inside the cabin) and one overhead light. Cabin 10 stands by itself. Cabin 7,8,9 are in a “L” configuration so the carports 7,8,9 are close together, an aspect to keep in mind as each carport will have a display/performance for the public on Friday/Saturday.

Show your work in the Red Bus Theatre parked next to the Sou’wester Lodge. Access to power.

Use the area at or around the Sou’wester Outdoor Kitchen, across from the Sauna and Tea and Wellness Trailers. Access to power, lights and water. (In the past it has been used as a puppet stage!)

Use the beach at the end of the Sou’wester Beach Approach (the road that the Sou’wester Property is on). The beach is a 10-15 minute walk or a few minute drive from The Sou’wester.
