Frequently Asked Questions
BOOKINGS FAQ
I need to modify or cancel my reservation, who should I contact?
- You can click here to modify or cancel your reservation with your email address and confirmation number.
- If you cannot locate your reservation #, you can call our front desk between 9a-8p.
What are your cancellation conditions?
We ask for 72 hr. notice to avoid a charge equaling the 1st night of your scheduled booking. If you must cancel your reservation closer to your date due to an official severe weather warning, you will be charged for your stay and issued a gift certificate to come at a later date. Please note, no refunds or gift cards will be issued if you are canceling because of weather preference (rain or otherwise).
Do you have bedding?
All beds are made, please request bedding for daybeds & fold-down couches.
Do you have dishes/cookware?
All units are equipped with dishes and basic cookware. Additional cookware may be available at the lodge by checking with the front desk.
Do you allow pets?
Yes, dogs & cats are allowed in our vintage trailers & cabins with our standard pet fee/protocols. We allow furry guests in our trailers, cabins and RV/campsites. No pets in the lodge or lodge suites. It is $30 for the first pet and $15 for each additional pet. We ask that you bring blankets to cover bedding and furniture. Washington State Law requires all dogs to be on leashes and we trust that you will be responsible for your dog while you are here.
Do you charge a resort fee?
We do not charge a resort fee
Which rooms have wifi?
All of our units have access to wifi. The front desk can recommend accommodations that may be more suitable for video calls.
Is there a workspace in our room?
While most of our units have a table and chair/s, the following units have a work desk: 1, 2, 3, 8, 10, 22, 28 & 31. We also provide a communal work lounge in the center of our grounds as a cozy break-away space, open from 9a-9p.
Can I mail myself a package before arrival?
The Sou’wester Lodge does not receive or send mail/USPS. You may use the local PO general delivery system.
Is there an airport shuttle service to the peninsula?
- There is no direct shuttle to the peninsula but The Point Bus route will take you to Astoria from Portland. Seattle’s Greyhound will take you as far as Longview, WA.
- Other ways to get here
What clothes should I pack?
The Washington Coast is known for its variable yet temperate weather, no matter the season, so it’s best to pack layers:
- Layers: A waterproof jacket, a sweater, and comfy clothes for hiking and beach walks.
- Footwear: Waterproof boots for trails and sandals for the beach.
- Essentials: Sunglasses & sunscreen (you’ll need them even on overcast days).
With these basics, you’ll be set for exploring the evergreen coast rain or shine! Check the 10-day forcast here.
ON-SITE FAQS
Where can I park my car?
Many of our trailers have adjacent parking. Please see our grounds map. We have our West-end parking lot and East-end parking lot. Please only park in designated spots. You may park near your unit to unload before parking your vehicle.
Can I charge my electric car?
We do not currently have an EV charging station on-site.
How do I request an early check in or late check out?
You may request it at the front desk or via the text conversation the front desk opened the day of your arrival. Early/late check ins/outs subject to availability.
Do you serve food?
We do not have a kitchen but we have a stocked front-porch market for snacks, treats and simple meals. Check out our local restaurant directory for our nearby recommendations.
Where can I have a campfire?
We provide designated fire rings for our vintage trailers and a few communal ones in our central trailer court. Please do not move the fire rings or start fires in the grass. The beach is open most of the year for fires as well. Beach campfires must be smaller than 4 feet on each side and 3 feet in height. Campfires must be 100 feet west of the dune line. Fires and barbecues are not allowed in the flammable dune grass area. Do not build a fire if it is windy.
Where can I smoke?
No smoking in or within 15 feet of any accommodation. The stone fireplace to the north east of the lodge is a good out of the way spot as is the picnic table to the west of the bike shed (as long as no other guests are using it at the time). Or take a lovely walk towards the beach!
There is a black and white cat meowing at my door, does he live here?
Meet Mr. Meatball, our boss. He lives where he wants (though he does have his own space). You are welcome to invite him in unless you are staying in the lodge. Or just tell him to move along. Meatball merch coming soon to our Front Porch Market. Please do not feed him. He is well fed but begs like a dog.
Are there ADA accommodations available?
Due to the natural landscape and the historic nature of our vintage trailers, cabins, and suites, mobility accommodations meeting ADA standards are not available. All accommodations have narrow doors and steps, and the gravel roads and paths are not wheelchair-accessible. However, we are committed to assisting guests with accessibility needs and will do our best to accommodate your requests. Please reach out to discuss how we can support you during your stay.
